mural wallpaper is making a comeback...in a new and fresh way...especially landscape murals...what used to grace the walls of historic buildings and homes are now being seen more and more in modern-looking rooms, and less formal spaces...
it seems that the new murals are a bit more toned down...and monochromatic color-wise...a bit more muted and neutral...so, although they are definitely still statement-making...they allow room for other furniture/decor/architecture to shine through as well...
the pic above, from anewall, is a perfect example of the monochromatic, muted color palette, or lack there-of, and also an example of how they are popping up in unexpected rooms of the house..(another room besides the formal dining room)..the bedroom...
i like how it's paired with the modern bed, and minimalist decor...
this gorgeous wall...found on the makerista...is made even more dramatic through the use of the bold, dark color...
loving this color palette!
emily henderson's nursery...loving the use of the murals in nurseries and how they can add such a cute whimsical touch...
shop a few options here...

our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. it is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us...we are all meant to shine...and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people the permission to do the same. as we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. |
